EMED Group to provide Safe Care Patient Transport Services across Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Trust
EMED Group’s specialist mental health transport division Safe Care has been selected to support Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Trust (SABP) with secure patient transport services. With a proven track record of excellence in patient-centred care and a commitment to best practice, EMED is very excited to be partnering with SABP to support patients across Surrey.
EMED brings a wealth of experience and expertise to this critical role, leveraging bespoke vehicles, highly trained staff, and advanced protocols to ensure the highest standards of safety, care and professionalism for all service users. The transition to EMED Safe Care strengthens SABP’s focus on quality, efficiency, and compassionate care within its mental health framework.
“We are thrilled to announce EMED Safe Care as the new provider for secure mental health transportation services across Surrey and Borders,” said Michelle Jones, Managing Director of EMED’s Safe Care division. “With EMED’s unwavering commitment to excellence and dedication to meeting the unique needs of individuals with mental health challenges, I am confident that we will uphold the highest standards of care and service delivery.”
The transition to EMED comes at a time of growing recognition of the importance of accessibility to mental health services. EMED will support patients and healthcare professionals with:
- Secure patient transport
- Admissions and discharges
- Hospital appointments
- Sections 135 and 136
- Bedwatch and patient companion services.
Over the last six weeks EMED Group has seen a significant expansion of services into Surrey with three of our four divisions now operating within the region. Safe Care’s work with SAPB is the final part of a broader mobilisation, which commenced operations through its Patient Care and Community Care divisions within the Surrey Heartlands Integrated Care System at the start of April 2024.
