Wayne Spedding, Commercial Director at EMED Safe Care, said, “I’m delighted to have been awarded this contract and to start delivering the high-quality, secure transport service that the patients of Hertfordshire and West Essex deserve. It’s especially significant for me, given that this is the first contract award following a formal tender process for Safe Care and marks an important milestone in the future growth of the division.”

This secure mental health transport service was launched on the 15th of January 2024. It will be overseen by a dedicated operations manager and delivered by 20 road-based staff operating out of The Crystal Centre in Chelmsford and a new base in St. Albans.
