We are pleased to announce that EMED Safe Care has become a member of the Restraint Reduction Network.

The Restraint Reduction Network is an international network committed to eliminating the use of unnecessary restrictive practices. Members work to influence and improve through a pledge to reduce restrictive practices.

The approach aligns with the ‘Right Care, Right Person’ model, tailoring support to patients’ individual needs. Adopting the Restraint Reduction Network’s standards ensures we continue to employ best practice in mental health transport.

As part of our pledge, we have committed to the following priorities:

  • To better use the data we collect to reduce and inform restrictive practice.
  • To review our vehicle environment to aid the reduction in the use of restrictive practice.
  • To find innovative ways of getting meaningful feedback to improve our services.

You can read more about our priority pledges here.

Michelle Jones, Managing Director of EMED Safe Care, said, “We are very proud to have joined the Restraint Reduction Network. Our commitment to reducing unnecessary and harmful restrictive practices aligns perfectly with the Network’s wider mission. Together, we can uphold human rights and improve the quality of care across all settings. By collaborating with like-minded professionals and individuals, we are taking a significant step towards a more compassionate and respectful approach to mental health care.”
