In a big step towards sustainability and providing a boost to EMED Group’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) credentials, our ambulance base in South Yorkshire has become our first to be entirely powered by solar energy.
The base, which serves as a critical hub for renal services and dialysis patient transport in the area, has deployed a state-of-the-art solar panel system on its roof to harness the power of the sun.
This forward-thinking initiative significantly reduces the Rotherham base’s carbon footprint and provides a reliable and environmentally friendly energy source. Solar power ensures the ambulance base can continue to operate efficiently and effectively, even during power outages or emergencies.
The transition to solar power is part of EMED’s larger commitment to promote eco-friendly practices and reduce its reliance on traditional energy sources. The success of this project highlights the potential for renewable energy to transform the way essential services are delivered, paving the way for a greener and more sustainable future.
The unit on Kingsforth Business Park in Rotherham is the headquarters of the newly mobilised EMED Patient Care contract covering the South Yorkshire region and delivering essential renal patient transport services in the area.
